Description:
In the first part of this hands-on workshop, I will show you how to use your artist’s eye along with practical techniques to create an arrangement of beautiful seasonal flowers.
I will demonstrate, provide instruction and discuss the similar principles that one uses to create art that also carry over to floral design such as; use of color, line, gesture, balance and composition.

Flowers will be provided and the arrangement you create will be yours to take with you at the end of class .

In the second part of the workshop, you will explore Botanical sketching Fundamentals with Laura.

Inspired by the arrangement you’ve created and the flowers around us, Laura will guide you through the basics of botanical drawing.
She'll show you how to observe and sketch plants and flowers, individualizing their unique shapes and volumes. You will learn about the simplification of forms and plant structures, which will help improve your drawing skills and build a strong base for a botanical composition.

You’ll only need a sketchbook, a pencil and an eraser.
